Genre Decision

Image
Our group opening sequence will be comedy. We came to this decision because the comedy genre is what excited us the most. It gives us a lot of space and creativity to work with. Other genres can sometimes be too restrictive but comedy gives us the flexibility to add whatever we would like into it. We chose comedy by evaluating our other genre choices that also appealed to us and we found a middle ground in comedy. Doing something like action or drama isn't very convenient for us to film so it's good we both agreed on a genre that is not only has favorable conditions but that we both enjoy. We both have similar  interest in comedy films which made it easy for us to settle on this genre. In a previous project done at the beginning of the year we used the horror genre. We decided to not do the horror genre because we wanted to try something new. This is a genre we have never worked with before. Not only is this providing new experiences but it's prov...

Genre Research: Horror

This is an embedded Microsoft Office presentation, powered by Office .      The genre for the powerpoint project my partner and I completed was Horror. My partner and I decided on this genre because we both had a large interest in horror films. By us doing this genre in our powerpoint it would help us gather a larger understanding and appreciation of horror. For this project we split the work to make it easier on both of us and so one person wasn't too overwhelmed with doing too much work. Before the project started we spent time going through websites and gathering information about horror films. We also spent time discussing some of our favorite films and our favorite elements of them. That helped make our project more personal yet still informing. We attempted to make it more interesting for our audience so they can appreciate the genre as much as us while also absorbing information about it. The powerpoint contains eerie music playing in the background to ...

Our Pitch

Image
The two genres for our pitch that my partner and I came up with are along the lines of documentary and comedy. We decided on these two genres because these are both topics of interest for us. Growing up we both found a heightened interest in documentaries. We would stay up late to watch youtube videos about various subjects. Our topic of discussion is food, specifically processed food. We chose this because we want to make a movie introduction that brings awareness to the things we put in our body. Our pitch for our documentary is as follows: For the documentary genre we want to do a movie introduction about processed food from fast food places and grocery stores. To film this genre it is less convenient for the both of us because filming locations would have to be multiple locations. We have too much of a variety of filming locations to choose from. It is just an all around too much of a hassle to film.  As adolescents we would watch comedies with our...
