Title Research: Honey, I Blew Up the Kid

- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?
The titles that are depicted are the production company (Walt Disney Pictures), the actors, directors, and producers. The title are all shown in colorful fonts with different sizes. 

 - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
The images that are prioritized are the "big effect" pictures. In this sequence they blow up a lot of things. This is done to correlate to the movie and title of the film. After reading the title of the film it can be determined that a child got blown up, with that being said they show images of a large toddler, large word fonts, and large objects. 

 - What connotations do these images carry?
The images hold a lot of weight because the audience can be misled. The images probably bring a negative connotation to the movie. In the sequence you can see things getting destroyed, a large toddler out of control, and a guy who appears to be the dad looking worried and in distress. With all of these events happening it can be assumed that something bad is happening in the movie. In all reality its a comedy and family movie. 

 - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?
The film was able to establish the feeling of genre by seeing the main character going through struggles in a comedic way. The character had a chair pin him against the wall, a seesaw broken because of the heavy toddler, and fell off a house. All of these events lead to a feeling of humor and laughs. 

 - What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The main strategy to ensure that the film addresses the correct audience is by the use of animation and music. There was an upbeat non diegetic music playing in the background. This sound has been used in many family comedies such as Home Alone. Animation is commonly used in children movies as well as family movies. These factors allowed the audience to be known. 

- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, 
transitions and editing techniques.
Technology was used in varying aspects. It was used very effectively because there was a team that put the animation together. There was a use for technology to create the editing. Some of the editing and transitions that were used was the zoom in, short take, and wipe.

Editing for my Crocs Commercial

 The editing process of my commercial was not too difficult. The total time it took to edit was about 30 minutes. I used iMovie to edit on my laptop and I begun my importing my footage onto my laptop. I organized the clips in the order I wanted the commercial to flow. I did not use all the clips I wanted to make sure I remained in the time limit. I watched all the footage back as I was editing to find the perfect clips to use for each part. For the parts of the commercial I did not want to use I cut the clip and merged the other pieces together. During the editing process I noticed that the time limit wasn't going over too much and I was on the right track. I wanted to add a little bit of calming music to the background of my video. In many Croc commercials there is a calm background music and I wanted to add that element to my commercial. Planning Title Blog

  The title of a film is very essential for various reasons.  After research  on various websites about titles and title sequences we were able to begin the process of deciding on a name. We kept in mind the information absorbed from those websites and integrated  that information into our final decision. The title of a film sets the mood for the film, gives overview, and allows the audience to create assumptions for the content.  We spent some time thinking about a movie tile that fits the content of our film. As of right now the title for our film is "The Workplace". We decided this title for our film based on a comedy series named "The Office". The comedy style in our film is very similar of "The Office". As stated before in previous blogs the movie is inspired from that show. Filming for my Crocs Commercial

     On Sunday November 1st I filmed my Crocs commercial. The person I originally wanted to film with was unable to come over and film so I just filmed with my mom instead.  During this process I directed the filming. I decided the positions my mother and I would stand in, and the dialogue we would use in the commercial. Before filming I cleared the yard of any signs that would get in the way of my video. I also played around with locations for the camera to sit to record. I gathered the football and soccer ball, the shoe box and crocs, and set up the camera in the front yard. I decided to film in the front yard of my house because I wanted to use the grass to play with the balls. This was the first option out of the two options I had for filming stated in my planning.
