Clip from 'Walking On Sunshine' music video
Our music video won't follow the convection of the Pop Rock genre. After analyzing the "Walking On Sunshine" music video, me and my group have decided to stir away from pop rock convections and create our own unique music video. When first discussing the filming process, a majority of our group agreed on wearing colorful wigs. Not for any significant reasoning but simply doing it out of fun. Though, the colorful wigs will aid the overall tone of the video. Going back to convections of the Pop Rock genre, in our research we've found the common characteristic of Pop Rock music videos. Typically will contain multiple scenes of the artist doing random activities or following a story. As well as scenes altering the focus of the video of those artist following their story to them preforming the song on stage. The attire in most Pop Rock music videos are trendy, yet moderate toned clothing. A perfect mixture between the dark convections of Rock and the trendy, colorful convections of Pop. The Pop Rock is the overall mixture of both genres. A lot of people associate Pop Rock with 'Indie' another pop based genre of music. Though 'Indie' leans towards the more colorful side of Pop. An obvious conclusion is that we'll not be adding the preforming convection to our film. As it would take away from the story in our video. We will be pertaining to the common theme of most Pop Rock videos though. No, not the theme of preforming but more of the overall tone. More specifically to how they show the artist with their friends or a large group of people. We'll be filming at our local park, where we'll attempt to have a similar affect in our music video. While they're of course still having a story, it'll show each members of our group having a good time. Either singing along with the music, dancing, or even doing something random. Pop Rock is meant for people to have a good time. So of course their music and music videos portray to having fun.
